Crawford County, Indiana – Nonprofits with programs and projects that benefit Crawford
County residents can apply for funding through the Community Foundation’s Youth
Philanthropy Council Grant Cycle that opened on March 9, 2023.
The Crawford County Youth Philanthropy Council (CCYPC), a program and fund of the
Community Foundation of Crawford County, is ready to accept grant applications from
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations benefiting the residents of Crawford County. Nonprofits are
invited to submit proposals requesting up to $4,500.00. The deadline for applications is noon
on April 7, 2023.
Laken Fraime, the CFCC’s director of finance and programs, said, “The Youth Philanthropy
Council gives students a look into the grant making process here at the community foundation,
from grant writing, to evaluating and recommending recipients. They are empowered to make
a decision that will make a real difference to local non-profit organizations and the people of
Crawford County.”
“I love that our foundation embraces the input of young people! Because of the CC YPC, these
teens will be better equipped to be leaders in Crawford County. They will have an
understanding of the nonprofit sector that many adults do not have. The process is good for
them, good for Crawford County, and good for our nonprofits,” said Christine Harbeson,
executive director. “And it sure doesn’t hurt for them to gain some understanding around the
work of the foundation.”
Instructions and applications are open to all 501(c)(3) nonprofits benefiting the Crawford
County, Indiana community and are available on the Community Foundation’s website,
www.cf-cc.org and on Facebook @CFCC4Ever.
The CCYPC is comprised of Crawford County High School seniors. The CCYPC is a responsive
grant making program designed to empower the youth of Crawford County to review, score,
and recommend grant proposals that will provide a meaningful impact to the community. The
YPC works with the Community Foundation of Crawford County to learn about servant
leadership, volunteerism, the important role philanthropy plays in our community, and assisting
in the ultimate goal of making generosity last forever.
