Join Krieg DeVault LLP’s Labor and Employment attorneys in an engaging discussion of the compliance landscape surrounding equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws and drug free and other workplace safety laws. Explore ways to develop robust, employee-responsive policies to support all workers, including members of historically underrepresented groups and those needing a second chance. Our discussion will cover the basics of federal EEO and workplace safety laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Drug Free Workplace Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act, as well as their state law counterparts. We will also explore available incentives for employers to develop innovative recruitment and retention strategies, such as Indiana’s “second chance” law and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program.
