Kids Summer Fun Itinerary
There are still a couple of weeks of summer break left, and so much to do and explore! Use this itinerary as a guide to show your kiddos a great time here in Crawford County, IN!
Monday: Sycamore Springs Park in English, IN is a well-respected park in English, IN with opportunities for camping, fishing, hiking, and more! The park is also home to bike trails, a tiny village, a petting zoo, shelter houses, picnic areas, and over a dozen playgrounds! Best of all, everything is FREE (except camping & cabins).
Tuesday: Head to Out of the Blue Coffee & Ice Cream for Kids’ Camp! For only $6/child, your child will enjoy a scoop of ice cream and participate in a guided craft that they get to take home.
Wednesday: Your family will love a Patoka Lake Wildlife Cruise! Patoka Lake is home to an abundance of wildlife, including osprey, bald eagles, herons, loons, beavers, and more! The price is $25/adult and $15/child. Contact Patoka Lake Marina to reserve your spot!
Thursday: Visit Marengo Cave U.S. National Landmark, and do a cave tour, or two! After the cave tour, kids can enjoy surface activities such as Miner’s Maze, The Skyclimber, gemstone mining, Mini Glow Putt Putt Golf, pedal karts, and so much more! Springtown Pizza and a sweet shop are now available on the property!
Friday: Check out the Nature Center at O’Bannon Woods State Park, where you can explore a bird observation room and live reptile displays! Afterwards, take a stroll through the pioneer village and take a walk on the universally accessible Nature Center Trail!
Saturday: Head to Patoka Lake State Park Nature Center and learn all about their resident raptors, including red-tailed hawk, eastern screech owl, and more!
Sunday: Choose a hiking trail and set off on an adventure! Yellow Birch Ravine or Hemlock Cliffs are sure to impress the nature enthusiast.
