Four organizations worked together to develop the site to increase awareness of Crawford County resources and assets

Crawford County, IN (February 2022)-  After gathering input from community leaders and stakeholders, area non-profit organizations identified a community website and calendar as a missing asset for residents and tourists.  This led to the development of the Come to Crawford site.

The Crawford County Chamber, Tourism, Community Foundation, and Economic Development organizations collaborated on the marketing, advertisement, and launch of the website. The novel site was brought to life by the Community Foundation of Crawford County with grant funds from the Lilly Endowment, Inc.

“I am appreciative of the joint effort with our partners to make this happen,” said Michael Thissen, Executive Director of the Crawford County Economic Development Corporation.  “We don’t often think of having a resource like this to encourage tourism and business growth, but I am confident it will add to our ever-growing portfolio of assets and I am very proud of the local collaboration.”

Features of the Come to Crawford website include a calendar of events, a job board, a list of businesses and resources, and much more. It will also provide a place for future residents and job creators to learn about the many positive features Crawford County has to offer.  The partnership between the above organizations will focus on advertising these tools and increasing awareness of this valuable community asset.

“The Community Foundation was happy to be helpful in securing resources and support for this project.  We look forward to seeing the impact it will have on tourism, quality of place and economic development for our residents,” said Christine Harbeson, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Crawford County.
